Madrid goes out late, goes out every night of the week and has clubs for every taste, from reggaeton to techno. This guide answers the questions people ask before their first night out here, using the 44 clubs we follow and the 173 parties on sale right now.
What time do people go out in Madrid?
Late. Dinner is usually around 9 or 10pm, bars fill up after that and clubs get busy from about 1am. Of the parties in our listings right now, 63% start at midnight or later and 82% close between 5 and 7am. If you prefer an earlier night, 25 sessions start in the afternoon or early evening: see the day parties.
How much does it cost to get in?
It depends on the club and the night, and several clubs sell cheaper tickets in advance than at the door. Some examples from the clubs we list:
- La Riviera: €20–25 depending on the event
- Fitz Club: From €20 in advance (more with a guest artist)
- The Bassement: From €10 in advance; VIP backstage from €25 for up to 5 people
- Gunilla: €15–25 with a drink depending on the time
- Saint Club: From €12 early evening and €20 at night, drink included
- CrisTo Social Club: From 15 EUR with one drink and from 20 EUR with two
- Marabú: Free with guest list; from €15 in advance with a drink
- Mökai Beach Club: From €15 depending on arrival time
- Marvel: 16 EUR Fridays and 18 EUR Saturdays, two drinks included
Every club page shows its upcoming parties, and the official box office shows the final price before you pay.
Dress code, age and ID
The minimum age is 18 and you need your original passport or ID card. A few ask for more: Gabana (21+), Perro Negro (25+), Gunilla (21+), Todos Santos (20+), Marabú (23+), Panda Club (25+). 29 of the 37 clubs whose dress code we know ask for a smart look: avoid sportswear, flip-flops and shorts, and remember the door always has the final say.
Where to go out: Madrid by area
The centre: Sol, Plaza de España, La Latina, Malasaña
The historic centre has the classic big venues, from Joy Eslava next to Puerta del Sol to Teatro Magno and Fitz at Plaza de España, plus the bars of Malasaña and the tapas streets of La Latina. It is all walkable, which makes it the easiest place for a first night out.

Getting home
The metro runs from 6am to about 1:30am. After that there are night buses (the búhos), most of them leaving from Plaza de Cibeles, plus taxis and ride-hailing apps. If you are heading to a club outside the city, sort out the way back before you go.
